MISSION STATEMENT The purpose of Lacy Kelly VFW Post 3036 shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational; to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of the dead, and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies, whosoever. HISTORY Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3036 was chartered in 1934 and was named after Private First Class Lacy Kelly who was killed while fighting in France during World War I. MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS The regular monthly membership meeting of VFW Post 3036 is held the first Tuesday of each month. The meeting starts at 1900 hours. The Ladies VFW Auxiliary (VFWA) meets on the same day and at the same time. The Military Order of Cooties (MOC) and Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary (MOCA) meets on the second Thursday following the regular VFW monthly membership meeting at 1900 hours. All meeting are held at the Post Home at 210 Ronie Street, Hattiesburg, MS. The Annual State Convention will be held in Tupelo during the period June 26-28, 2009. Please make your plans to attend by registering now. Delegates will be announced at our 5 May Membership meeting.Scholarship Applications may be picked up at the business office for school year 2009-2010.
